Our main focus at ASDA is your right to choice and access to various options to meet your personal needs. Specialist Disability Accommodation is a range of housing designed for people with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs. We understand that specialist disability accommodation should be designed to be more accessible for you, based on your disability-related support needs.

We believe in listening to you and gaining a very good understanding of your needs in order to assist you in accessing the right design for you. We partner with you to achieve your goal of living more independently in your home and to allow your other supports to be delivered better and more safely. You might need a home with reinforced ceilings so you can have a ceiling hoist installed.

You might need a specific toilet and shower design to optimise your safety and comfort. Specialist disability accommodation may involve a shared home with a small number of other people, where you have your own private bedroom. You are not compelled to live in shared accommodation arrangements; however, we understand that some people prefer to live in shared accommodation out of personal choice.

You may want to live in specialist disability accommodation by yourself if that option best meets your disability-related support needs and circumstances. You can choose to share your bedroom with another person, such as a partner, if you wish.
