Daily life in a SIL home is built around your goals, your preferences, and your routine. There is no one-size-fits-all schedule. The support wraps around your life — not the other way around.
A typical day
Every person’s day looks different, but here is an example of what life in an ASDA home might look like:
Morning: Your Lifestyle Support Partner (LSP) helps you start the day however works best for you. That might include help with showering and dressing, preparing breakfast, taking medication, or simply having a cup of tea and a chat before the day begins.
During the day: Depending on your goals and interests, you might head out to a day program, go shopping, visit a local park, attend a medical appointment, or spend time on hobbies at home. Your LSP can provide transport and escort wherever you need to go.
Meals: LSPs help with meal planning and preparation based on what you enjoy eating. In shared houses, mealtimes can be social if you want them to be, or you can eat in your own space.
Evenings and overnight: Support continues around the clock. Whether you need help getting ready for bed, someone to be there overnight, or simply the peace of mind that comes from knowing someone is always close by, your LSP team is there.
It is a home, not a facility
ASDA’s homes are small houses in quiet residential streets. Residents have their own bedrooms, share common areas, and are encouraged to make the space their own. Family and friends are welcome to visit — there are no visiting hours. It is your home.
Building independence
SIL is not about doing everything for you. Your LSPs work alongside you to build skills and confidence over time. That might mean learning to prepare simple meals, managing personal routines more independently, or getting more involved in community activities. The pace is always yours.
Locations
ASDA has homes in Merrylands and Ruse (Western Sydney), Spring Farm near Camden (South-West Sydney), and Bonshaw near Ballarat (Victoria). Each home is close to shops, transport, and local amenities.
