How Support Coordinators Can Refer Participants to ASDA

Support coordinator referral process for NDIS SIL participants

If you are a support coordinator with a participant looking for SIL accommodation in Western Sydney or regional Victoria, Australian SDA Access (ASDA) welcomes referral enquiries. Here is how the process works.

Step 1 — Make contact

Reach out to the ASDA team directly:

Let us know you are a support coordinator enquiring on behalf of a participant. We will discuss current availability across our homes and whether there may be a suitable match.

Step 2 — Share the basics

To assess suitability, we will ask about:

  • The participant’s primary support needs
  • What type of living arrangement they are looking for
  • Their preferred location (we have homes in Merrylands, Spring Farm, Ruse, and Bonshaw)
  • Whether they currently have SIL and/or SDA funding in their plan
  • Any specific requirements or preferences (pet-friendly, granny flat, shared house)

You do not need to have every detail ready. An initial conversation helps both sides assess whether to proceed.

Step 3 — Arrange a tour

If there is a potential match, we will arrange a free, no-obligation tour of the relevant home. Tours are available Tuesday to Thursday. The participant is welcome to bring family members, advocates, or anyone helping them explore options.

Visiting in person makes a real difference. It lets the participant see the home, meet the team, and get a sense of daily life.

Step 4 — Assessment and onboarding

If it is a good fit for everyone, the ASDA team works with you and the participant (and their family, if involved) to plan the transition. We work within the participant’s existing plan and Roster of Care.
